8th Grade Registration begins this week!
The first step in the 2012 Freshman Registration process is a Parent Orientation designed to help parents and students learn more about academic and extra-curricular opportunities at HJUHSD.
In February, high school counselors will be at local elementary and middle schools to enroll students in ninth grade classes.
Students will receive a copy of the HJUHSD Course Catalog and Freshman Registration Packet from their current school before the registration visits. Please read these materials carefully and send the completed forms with your student to the registration meeting with the high school counselors.
Counselors will not be conducting individual meetings with parents at the 8th grade schools. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend Parent Orientation Night, where counselors and administrators will be available to answer specific questions.
Enrollment in HJUHSD schools is based on your home address as provided by your eighth grade school. Students are required to attend their high school of residence. Additional information about Registration and Attendance Areas is available at each school site and the District office, as well as online: http://www.hjuhsd.k12.ca.us/enrollment.htm
Students may request a change in school to participate in the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Hanford West High School and a NJROTC request form will be included with the student registration materials. The deadline for NJROTC program transfers is March 30, 2012.
For more information about the 8th Grade Registration process or about your future school, students and parents can contact your high school principal or the Superintendent's Office office at 583-5901 ext. 3101 or by email at dstout@hjuhsd.k12.ca.us.
