Community Volunteers sought for Senior Ethics Workshops

The Hanford Joint Union High School district is seeking business people and other community members to volunteers as Table Leaders for the HJUHSD 2011 Senior Ethics Workshops April 5 and 7.

More than 60 volunteer Table Leaders are needed each day to help guide small groups of local high school seniors through group discussions of values, ethics and decision-making using real-world scenarios and examples.

The workshops are led by volunteer MC's Paula Lehn of FAST Federal Credit Union and Officer Jerry Pierce of the California Highway Patrol, who introduce each activity throughout the day and keeping all of the groups on track.

The 2011 Senior Ethics Workshops will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday April 5 for seniors from Hanford West High School, and April 7 for seniors from Hanford High School and Alternative Education Programs.

Both workshops are held at the Koinonia Christian Fellowship (12536 Hanford Armona Road), which has generously donated its facility for this event for several years.

New Table Leaders will have an opportunity to learn more about the Workshops at one of two Table Leader Orientations at the HJUHSD District Office at 823 W. Lacey Boulevard. The orientations will be 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 30 and 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. March 31. Again, new Table Leaders are encouraged to attend ONE of these orientations to prepare for the Workshop, but it is not mandatory.

If you would like to volunteer for this fun and rewarding experience, just fill out and return the 2011 Table Leader Form.

If you would like additional information about this program, please contact your high school principal or HJUHSD Coordinator of Communications Candace McIlroy at 559-583-5901, ext. 3104.
