The Hanford FFA Chapter participated in the 15th annual Hanford Relay for Life October 8 and 9. FFA members from Hanford High, Hanford West High and Sierra Pacific High raised money, walked around the track, participated in the road to recovery car race, assisted young children in the Kids Camp, set out luminaries and helped decorate for this year’s theme, “Surfing for a Cure.”

The Hanford FFA chapter had 4 relay teams with 103 FFA members who participated with serving over 417 hours of community service and fundraised over $7,714.

The Hanford FFA Chapter ended the 24-hour event by earning awards during the closing ceremony. This year, the chapter won 3 awards with 2 perpetual trophies; First Place in Most Involvement by Organization, First Place in Top Fundraising Team-Business, and Third Place in Most Spirited-Multiple Teams. Members were excited to receive such recognition.
